Resolution

The New Year is all about starting fresh. New regimes, new diets, new everything it seems... but what it really comes down to is having the determination to achieve the new goals you set for yourself. For me, my goal this year is to embrace who I am. CrossFit has taught me that I am an individual who has her own strengths, in and outside of the box. I enjoy what I do; photography is my niche and I am learning every day how to become a better artist. 

I wanted to share with you a series of black and white photographs I took at CrossFit New Hampton in New York. The athletes at this box are my friends and family. These athletes train almost once a day, every day. They show the utmost determination to become better athletes and strong-minded individuals.

"In Honour Of John Bishop" Dinner | Vancouver Event Photographer

With many years of having dined at Bishop's, this was a great evening in paying tribute to a very unique and talented chef. John Bishop has created numerous dishes, many that have become a favourite of mine. If you haven't yet dined at Bishop's, you must.

Hosted by Les Dames d'Escoffier of British Columbia, 100 guests were seated in a long hall and not only sat with John Bishop himself, but enjoyed a set dinner, with each dish created as an homage to the chef himself. Several chefs worked together to create a lovely menu. They had been taught by or had worked with John Bishop throughout his career. Les Dames did a marvellous job of organizing the event. Canadian chefs: Rob Feenie, Umberto Menghi, Vikram Vij, Michel Jacob and Michael Smith, were just a few of many chefs who attended the dinner.

I was very honoured to be a part of the evening. I would like to thank, The Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, for allowing me to cover this momentous occasion.

Burdock & Co. hosted a lovely evening with That's Life Gourmet, serving sakes from Kuheiji. 

"A cult brewery from Aichi Prefecture that is pioneering the next generation of young sake brewers. Kuheiji has been revolutionary in using vintage rice as well as aging sake to rest, taking cues from Burgundian wine makers. " - That's Life Gourmet Ltd. 

It was an amazing evening paired with delicious sake along with unique dishes created by the talented Burdock & Co. Restaurant. Enjoy!
